Azam was born and educated in Manchester, UK. He began his career as a recording engineer, but soon discovered more lucrative talents in Sales and Marketing. Having worked for several UK companies, Azam is currently based in Malaysia, after a two week visit stretched into 11 years!
Intitially vacationing, towards the end of the first year, Azam decided to seek temporary employment to extend his stay. Buying a local English daily, he saw an ad for "Marketing Executives." Only at the interview did he learn the job was door-to-door sales. Hardly what he had in mind, but being in a foreign country, he thought it might be educative, and fun to try - for a while at least.
Within a matter of weeks, Azam was a Team Leader, then a Supervisor. He quickly became proficient in the Malaysian language, and within months was appointed Marketing Manager. In less than a year he was invited to become a Partner. Unfortunately, irreconcilable differences of opinion concerning long-term company strategy saw Azam leave 9 months later.
Although not originally planning to stay long-term, as he grew accustomed to life and work in Malaysia, thoughts of returning to the UK gradually diminished. One thing led to another, and Azam met Ana, a local girl who was to become his wife.
Over the next five years, Azam transformed a struggling back-street shop into a successful business manufacturing luxury replica antique furniture, with factories in both Malaysia and Indonesia. The company was severely effected by the Asian economic crisis of '97. Insolvent debtors, empty order books due to cancelled projects, and the discovery of his partner's misappropriation of company funds, forced Azam to cease trading, and left him almost broke.
In 1998, Azam decided to investigate the possibility of earning an income online. At the time, he was a complete "newbie" to the Internet. Like many successful online marketers, he learnt much of what he knows today the hard way. His own marketing background notwithstanding, he freely admits to making many mistakes and wasting much time and effort.
Finding innumerable scams and much misinformation online, he realized it was hardly surprising that so many people failed to succeed with their Internet business. With that in mind, he started the NowSell.com site. Packed with valuable advice and information for anyone seeking an online income, the site also provides many free tools.
Azam also publishes the straight-talking Biz Bits ezine, viewed a "must read" by thousands of newbie and experienced business owners alike. It was here that he began writing his popular business and marketing how-to articles, which regularly appear in hundreds of publications.
Today, Azam consults on Internet marketing and Web site design. Always busy, he also occasionally ghost writes on request. In the coming months, he plans to launch a unique new promotion service, and a much-delayed ebook shortly thereafter.
