Rick has enjoyed a most varied and interesting life.

He went directly from high school graduation to working for the family drycleaning business (with a slight sabitical in between venturing out west to "find himself" during those days of love, peace and flowers). It wasn't long afterward that he developed a deep interest in business and soon took over managing the operation, even shearing his long locks.

Twenty-two percent interest rates during the worst recessionary period in modern history couldn't stop the young gun from learning his first and most valuable marketing lesson. Instead of cutting back as many of his competitors were doing, Rick opened new stores and upgraded what was already a modern processing department. He also raised his prices to reflect the increase in the quality of the plant's work. The company not only survived the economic storm when many of his competitors didn't, but ended up thriving.

Throughout this period of time, Rick worked part time on his "first love" - writing and promoting songs. He entered and won the most presitgious songwriting competitions of the day, including the Billboard Magazine International Songwriting Competition, two years running, and, was having his songs recorded by major recording artists.

Rick eventually came to the realization that he had what it took, including a solid financial base, to make a career writing for and producing what he called "deserving musical talent." So, in the 1990's he sold his multi-store drycleaning business (he spent 2 years prior designing and building a 32 track recording studio in his home) and set up a music production company.

As fate would have it, he was divorced ("Canadian-style" as he calls it) before the first product was even completed and he eventually lost most of his asset base, including the home and studio.

So in 1998, deep in debt, he turned to the World Wide Web and decided "if I can't figure out how to make a living with 40 million people (at that time) connected together, then I deserve to sell shoes!"

With no "gurus" or even guidelines to follow at the time, he had to quickly learn what to do, and not to do. Despite making what he calls "a few mistakes," within a year he had managed to start a popular newsletter, The Mirror, and a thriving affiliate program, The I.D. IT! Plates Partner Program, which was among the Internet first 2-Tier offerings.

He also started writing articles and was immediately featured in all the major marketing ezines at the time. This popularity led to the expotential growth of his newsletter and affiliate program, as well as writing his first eBook, The Ezine Marketing Machine, released in October, 1999, and still remains an Internet-wide best seller.

Two more eBooks followed, Branding YOU and Breaking the Bank, and, Power Publicity, and today, Rick has over 17,000 affiliates promoting his books and plates throughout the world.

Then something happened - September 11, 2001. Rick admits to struggling for several months after the horrific happenings of that day, even managing to dig into his musical past and enlist the help of his former music partner, D Laurance, to resurrect an old song, which eventually became the "We'll Be Victorious" 9/11 tribute song that is so popular on the Internet.

At the end of 2001, Rick decided that he could better serve people on a "higher level," something putting out marketing products couldn't achieve. At the end of March 2002, he released www.PeopleBuildingPeople.com, an online newsletter and resource center devoted to "Building Success by Building People". Rick says that he has since received the most compelling and powerful testimonials in his 4 years on the Internet about PBP.

Now, Rick comes back full circle in a few months to his "first love," a project that he wishes to keep top secret at this time.
