She is the Director of iCop™ and teaches online business owners how to run their companies in the most professional and ethical manner. For balance, she continues to teach creative life techniques in the MASTER COURSE Community.™
jl has used the pseudonym "jl scott" since the 1970s when she was writing some material which she says, "... would not have been well-received from a woman in that time." She has simply become "jl" even to most of her friends and family.
jl's experience in training others goes back to a former career as a corporate reorganization specialist in Orange, California and both Dallas and Austin, Texas. For 15 years she worked closely with top management to effect company turn-arounds for businesses in financial distress.
When working with smaller companies, she often found herself in the position of needing to re-train business owners in the finer points of organization, management and professionalism. She says her greatest referrals came from clients who claimed, "That Dragon Lady kicks butt and takes no prisoners!"
It was her experience working with top professionals in many industries that prompted her to write “Kickin’ Butt & Takin’ Names!” "My background,” says jl, “required me to work in highly professional arenas. I was appalled when I went online expecting to do business in the same professional manner to which I was accustomed. I can’t buy into the argument that business on the Internet is ‘different.’ This ‘difference’ is costing online business owners time, money and even self-respect."
Having raised four children, while running her own companies and attending college, jl is now divorced and lives in Pineville, LA. She enjoys the outdoors, reading a variety of subjects, jazz and comedy. Her passion in life is to help as many disadvantaged children
as possible all over the world.
