“It's Over Tomorrow. Want to Wait Another Year?”
Since I have NO plans to put The MASTER COURSE on sale again
until the New Year of 2009, I extended this year's sale until
January 15th this year.
Why? Folks were trying to order The MASTER COURSE after the
deadline of this year's sale at New Year's.
The problem was ... So many people got behind reading their
email over the holidays. The deadline came before they got
word they could save $200 on the Course.
REMEMBER:
"It's the Course that Teaches You HOW to DO what 'The Secret'
Only Talks About!"
Procrastination can keep you from having everything you ever
wanted! Tomorrow is ... the - last - day!

Message From jl
But, then, I'm never REALLY caught up. It just takes the time
it takes for me to get to everything!
When I have a problem with some company or other, it's always
good to know I'm not the only one. Last week, I had several
emails from people who ALSO had problems with aWeber.
I won't publish them because we have other things to cover
today, and we need to move on. They also didn't contain enough
information to give you full stories.
Nevertheless, mine was apparently not an isolated incident.
Since I simply read about this next subject and don't have
first-hand knowledge of it, I'll need to send you to a blog post
to get the actual story. Please read below - then come back
here. (You'll need to read it before the rest of my comments
make sense to you.)
People, who are supposed to be SO ethical and SO full of
integrity they're about to bust, will do this. They IGNORE
unethical behavior and proceed to kiss the butts of the
perpetrators based on some crazy idea of “who they are” or how
“successful” they are.
It makes me wanna gag.
It puts the excusers in the EXACT SAME CATEGORY as the low life
pulling the scam - and I don't give a damn WHO they are!
What's even worse is watching one of these pompous asses then
proceed to get all over someone else for bringing it to people's
attention.
Then, I DO gag!
When you wonder why I'll be pulling iCop out of the internet
marketing crowd over the next few months - this is it! This is
exactly the way I've come to see that entire gang over the past
couple of years.
I sometimes feel badly knowing there are a FEW good people in
that sorry-ass community. But, hey - when you run with wolves
... it may only be a matter of time before you become one.
I don't know the name of the marketer pulling the scam, and I
don't know in which forum this is being discussed. But, if any
of my readers know, I'd sure appreciate if you would send me a
link to it.
The term, “online security” covers many things. We tend to
think mostly of viruses, etc. Although a virus can certainly be
a nasty thing to have to deal with, identity theft can be even
worse.
I just wrote about this a few weeks ago. Then, lo and behold, I
was almost a victim of it.
My bank called me to ask if I was trying to use the debit card
on my company bank account. First, I did what everyone SHOULD
do, and refused to discuss it at all with the person who called.
I explained to him that, since the bank's name wasn't showing on
my called ID, I would call the bank back using the number I have
on file.
Once I did that and got connected to the correct department, I
found that someone was using my card in such a way as to try to
find out the three-number security code on the back of the card.
I guess the bank could see this, and they were right on top of
it. The card was canceled and they sent me a new one the same
day. Good job.
What bothers me about it is this ... I have ONLY used that
company debit card online in four places: Vonage, my web hosting
data center, aWeber, and with one marketer whom I trust
implicitly. Anything else is done off-line and I use a check.
So I figure one of three companies either sells card numbers, or
has a thief working for them.
I actually am considering NOT buying anything from anyone online
unless they have a PayPal account I can use to pay them. It's
much safer and you don't have all the attendant hassle even if a
thief just TRIES to use your credit or debit card.

I read your ezine this morning and thought I would reply. About
ID Theft, you mentioned having a good AntiVirus, AntiSpyware and
a good Firewall.
I would ask you to also tell your readers to make sure they know
these programs are working correctly.
You see, a lot of my first time customers tell me the programs
they are currently using don't work. Usually I find out why.
It's because they haven't set up the program correctly.
The typical online user wants a program they just install and
forget. What made me write to you today is that more and more
I'm seeing the same mentality in online business users. Being
secure online is a must, more so if you are a businessperson.
They should learn how to use their security products and even go
as far as to test them. Especially with their Firewall.
Great ezine as usual.

In a later email, Doug also provided me with a couple of links
I'll pass along to you:

iCop has a couple of members I consider experts in the field of
online security. (There may be more - I'm just particularly
familiar with these two.)
Richard Rossbauer has RichardPresents.com. Richard is
particularly knowledgeable about issues dealing with children
and their safety.
Richard also publishes the “Security Alerts News Reporter.”
This is one of the VERY few newsletters I read every word of
every week. I strongly urge you to subscribe at:
www.firewalls-and-virus-protection.com
Richard also has a new interactive section where family internet
safety is discussed. This is brand new. So, if you have kids,
hop on over and participate. We always learn the best tricks
from others like ourselves!
I'm using a Tiny URL due to the length of the link:
I couldn't agree more. Somehow security ends up at the bottom
of the list for busy people. UNTIL the horrible day when our
neglect bites us in the butt, and we pay the price for our
lackadaisical attitude.
Bill has written a fabulous ebook publication entitled, "The
Hacker's Nightmare.” Bill's goal was to make "The Hacker's
Nightmare" understandable to, and usable by, computer users of
all levels of competence.
I believe he has accomplished that goal! This is a HUGE
publication. If you can't find the answer to any problem you
have - or might have - in this ebook, there IS no answer!

Jan Tallent has been an iCop member practically from Day One.
She became a good friend and she's a fabulous person. In fact,
she always one of the first to jump in when someone needs help.
I RARELY do something like this. The last time I did it was
after an iCop member's family lost everything in Hurricane
Katrina. But, for Jan, there's no question that I'm going to
pass this along.
I'm sure you're aware of the severe weather that struck the
Midwest last week. Unfortunately, Jan was in the line of one
of the storms that hit Missouri. As a result, her home lost a
portion of the roof.
This is just one more episode in a string of unsettling
circumstances Jan's had to endure over the past year and the
truth is, she's only weeks away from losing everything.
Her best friend (and another long-standing iCop member), Sharon
Bray-McPherson, begged her several times over the past year to
let her friends online know what she's been facing but, being as
stubborn and independent as she is, Jan has refused, until now.
Sharon has just completed a special page explaining what's going
on with Jan, and she has assembled a package of products to sell
to raise funds to help her out.
This isn't the usual B.S. “fire sale.” This is an honest-to-God
emergency for a great lady. Please check it out:
