Hi Everyone!

For all our new subscribers who don't know, I have a pet cockatiel. His name is ET because he looked exactly like a little extraterrestrial (as in the movie of the same name) for several weeks after he hatched. He'll be five-years-old, the end of March.

ET was hand-raised and hand-fed from the age of nine-days-old. He owns me, my life and everything around me. At least, according to him! I finally had to ban him from my desk to get any work done.

He can whistle the Andy Griffith theme song, Yankee Doodle Dandy, Old MacDonald had a Farm and Jingle Bells. But, he flatly refuses to talk. Probably just as well. Hard telling what he might pick up around here.

I've always loved birds, but I loved them outside - where they belong. I still can't believe this arrogant little pile of feathers not only stole my heart, but even got his own bedroom!

The Hunger Site

Sheeeeez - sometimes I wonder about my wandering mind! I do something I'm completely invested in. Then, I change a few things, and that project somehow falls by the wayside.

Last week, while reading iCop member Steve Brunkhorst's newsletter, Achieve! "60-Second Nuggets of Inspiration", I saw something that had happened to.

Five Ways To Earn More Now Using Email

It's all too easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life and forget to do those *basic* things that create results in our lives.

Yet it is the basics of life, and business, that create reliable and predictable results.

Today many are having a hard time finding true success online. Everyday I hear from people who make a few dollars here or get a check there but have yet to find that stable, reliable passive income stream they were hoping for.

When I dig a little deeper into their situation, I find they have three things in common. These are the common denominators of their demise online.

1. They believe the hype, falling for the lie that others will do the work for them and they need make no effort.

2. They are constantly looking for the next big thing, focusing on products and programs that are in pre-launch or are so new that their success simply cannot be predicted.

3. They spend all their money on one program and have nothing left when that program fails them.

But the #1 thing they fail to do is this -- they do not begin focusing on the basics NOW and put time on their side.

I've actually had people cry on the phone when I asked them where they thought they would be today if they had only done a few basic things when they first came online.

Understand that I'm NOT casting stones here - I fell for the same things, wasting money and time I could not afford to lose when I first came online.

So, what can you do NOW that is rock-solid, proven to work, and will put time on your side?

What can you do today that will help your efforts tomorrow and every day the sun rises?

Now is the time to think about what you are doing online and ensure that you are using EVERY tool to it's maximum advantage.

One of those tools, perhaps the most powerful, is email.

You email every day right now, and email is the tool that is easiest to learn to use.

So that's where you start.

Use this short checklist to ensure that you are taking full advantage of the power of email and, by so doing, making time your ally, not your adversary.

Fast, easy, and free, the consistent use of email in the follow six areas will yield powerful results for you.


1. CUSTOMER FOLLOW UP

Whether it's a simple as a one-time 'thank you' or as elaborate as a 50 message follow up system, customers love to know you care. At a minimum, send one message thanking customers for every order.

To power up this idea, create a follow up system using your favorite autoresponder and offer your customer more chances to buy. Keep messages short and no more than two per week.


2. CUSTOMER LEARNING

Do you offer a product that takes a bit of learning to use? Teach your customers how to get the benefits they deserve from your product or service via email.

Keep messages on topic and separate your follow up series into bite-size learning pieces. These follow up messages can bring your refund rate to near zero ... a good thing indeed.


3. PRE-SALES SERIES

How often do *you* buy the first thing you see? Comparison shopping is the way of the Internet, and getting prospective customers to return to your site is the challenge.

A pre-sale series is the answer!

This is actually very easy to do. Just write down the top ten reasons why someone should buy from you, then put each in a follow up message. Send one a day until they are all delivered.

Offer the series to everyone who visits your site and let time do the selling work for you!

Our experience has been that up to 40% of visitors will take your free information if you do a good job of selling the idea.


4. SPECIAL PRICING AND OFFERS

Use email to deliver insider information on special bargains, limited time pricing, and more. Much like a coupon sheet in your local newspaper, selling advertising in this type of email is a breeze.


5. HARD TO FIND NEWS

Want to know THE secret to building a loyal mailing list? Give the people what they want!

People love offbeat news, especially when it has a connection to their lives.

* Do A JV With Someone Whose Product Compliments Your Own
* Sell A Message In Your Follow Up Series

Email is everywhere and tremendously effective. Don't let the "sky is falling" crowd convince you that it's not.

Start to USE email in your business today and you will make more money with less effort in the months to come.
