EXCELLENCE can be attained if you - CARE more than others think
is wise - RISK more than others think is safe - DREAM more than
others think is practical - and EXPECT more than others think is
possible.

“$7 Secrets”
“$7 Secrets” contains a simple - but DYNAMITE - plan for anyone
who wants to sell online. Also explains how you can do it yourself with any short report you write yourself.
The best part is that you receive the scripts to set up this
kind of sale for yourself. Most "gurus" would be selling that
script for at least $100!
Just $7 Right Here. Then, sell it yourself!

You know, I realize we've had the problem of spam since time
began. But, it continues to cause different kinds of problems.
If you have a web site, you have probably experienced the
problem of spammers using your address to send their crap.
It's called “spoofing,” and it happens to everyone sooner or
later.
This shouldn't get you blacklisted since the IP number in the
header doesn't belong to your domain. The biggest problem is
the lists they use.
Their lists have huge numbers of bounces. And, the bounces
don't go back to the spammer. They bounce back to YOU!
ARRRGGGHH!
Until I learned what to do about this, I would sometimes login
in the morning and find hundreds of these bounces in my in-box.
And, it would keep up all day. Trying to cull through them to
get my "real" email was a nightmare! Now, I never see them.
I can't really tell you how to handle this because different
web hosts are set up in different ways. What works on the iCop
Hosting server, may not work on yours.
What I can tell you is ... If you're having this problem,
contact your web host and find out how to handle it. I think
many folks are “handling” it by going to strict use of “support
desks,” and letting everything else bounce.
This is NOT a good solution! I can guarantee you, those
support desks are losing you money. All the changing of email
addresses is ALSO costing business people money!
And, while we're on the subject ... Changing things to make
your own life easier is understandable. However, doing it in
such a way as to make OTHER folks' lives more difficult just
ain't cool.
If you're going to change addresses, or go to a support desk,
at least have the courtesy to advise those who regularly
communicate with you of that fact. YOUR bouncing email is
merely adding to the problem.
As always - good business is indicated by professionalism.
Professionalism is judged by your willingness to work WITH
those you do business with.
I hate to keep harping on it, but things are really getting
sloppy online. Maybe I need to take some responsibility for
that - at least as far as MY readers are concerned.
In fact, now that I think of it, it HAS come about since so
many online business people stopped sending actual information
filled ezines, rather than the straight (junk) advertising most
of them send since The CAN-SPAM Act made spam legal.
“Back in my time,”
The readership of this newsletter is so diverse it's hard to
decide what to publish. We have rank newbies as well as those
who have been in business online for years.
So, who do I write for?
Well, over the years - and especially since we don't have those
ezines to keep us on our toes any longer - most of us “old
timers” have forgotten things we used to do without thought.
With that in mind, I feel like reviewing things we used to take
for granted might actually be in order. Like I said - things
have gotten sloppy. And, that's an understatement!
Be interesting to know how many people say, “Oh yeah, I'd
forgotten that,” when they read today's article. This is
something we were ALL taught long ago. Yet, I don't see it
being done today.
The information is in no way, “out of date.” When folks say
they can't make it online, maybe it's simply because no one is
teaching any more.
Of course, many of the "old" gurus really don't want these
things known, now. Not unless the newbies pay THEM huge amounts
for “mentoring.” And, as near as I can tell, they STILL don't
teach them!
We also have some new things going on online that need to be
addressed. Next week, I'm going to cover a couple of those.

Article Submission
Publishers are busy folks, and most are cautious. If you send
your article as an attachment, many won't even open it. With all
the viruses being circulated on the web, a cautious publisher
won't open an attachment - even from someone they know. So, if
you are serious about having an article published, forget that
approach.
Let's talk about the busy part. Some authors place their
articles on an auto-responder which, if you simply respond to
their e-mail, delivers it very quickly. But it is a two step
process. If the author gives no clue as to what it is all about
or its length, many publishers will not take that extra step.
Others simply send out an announcement that there is a new
article on their web page. Now the publisher has to go to the
web page to see if the article fits their needs - very few
publishers have the time to do this.
So what is the best way to submit an article?
As an E-mail of course! Give the publisher permission to use
your article in the E-mail, any quid pro quo's that you desire,
followed by the article. You should always give a word count and
a short synopsis of the article. Publishers appreciate this
touch - I know I do.
Your author's credit box should be short and to the point. This
is basically an ad that you are putting at the end. Your goal
should be to get them to visit your web site. Do your selling
there and not in the credit box. Many publishers will reject an
article if the credit box is a blatant sales pitch for a product
or service, or if it's too long.
Formatting of your text is important. Your best bet is to send
it as unformatted, plain text with a blank line between
paragraphs, with no indenting. Plain text is important, because
many other formats require additional work by the publisher.
One final thought. Most publishers have a limited amount of
space for your article. Shorter articles (500-700 words) have a
better chance of being published than longer ones (1,000 words
or more).
Articles less than 500 words have a great chance of being
published. Publishers are always looking for "fillers". Dr.
Kevin Nunley (See http://DrNunley.com)is the "King" of these
types of articles, which average about 200 words. Kevin can get
his point across in a short article that might take a less
talented author several thousand words.
Face it - most articles have a key point to make. If subscribers
have to plow through tons of information to get that point, they
usually page down to the next article - publishers realize this.
Did I mention spelling and grammatical errors? Do I have to? Get
someone else to proof your work. These types of errors are
normally the "kiss of death" as many publishers will reject an
article that has them.
You should never "dash off" an article and send it out right
away. Let it rest for a day or so, and read it. Make revisions
if necessary, and let it rest for another day. Do your final
proof just before sending it. If you have written an interesting
article, and have paid attention to these important details, you
have a good chance of getting published.
